  1. 01DeadTag: expired tag domains send visitors to iPhone exploit kits; opening the page is enough on vulnerable iOS. Report URI and iVerify report that an operator they call DeadTag buys the expired domains of old analytics and advertising tags that thousands of websites still load, so every page that carries the tag runs the operator's script, and sells the visitors on; Report URI counts more than 660 re-registered domains. For chosen iPhone visitors one chain ends at a page that serves the Coruna kit to iOS 13 to 17.2.1 and a modified DarkSword kit to iOS 18.4 to 18.7, both of which attack the browser itself, so that opening the page compromises a vulnerable device and steals keychain passwords and crypto-wallet data. →
  2. 02PolyShell (CVE-2026-48356): Magento upload flaw attacked since March, fixed in July, CISA lists it as exploited. Sansec reports that PolyShell, the unauthenticated file upload in the Magento and Adobe Commerce REST API that Adobe tracks as CVE-2026-48356, has been attacked since 2026-03-19, with a mass wave on 2026-03-30 that put a JavaScript loader on 471 stores in one hour. Adobe's bulletin APSB26-73 of 2026-07-14 names the 2026-jul builds as the fix and still says Adobe knows of no exploits, while Sansec says Magento 2.4.9 carried a fix on 2026-05-12; CISA added the flaw to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-27. A store that ran an unpatched build may carry a webshell that the update does not remove. →
  3. 03HPE ClearPass through 6.14.1 and 6.11.16 is affected by PHP2Shell; hotfix patches exist for both trains. HPE Networking's bulletin HPESBNW05171, released on 2026-10-22 and revised on 2026-10-23, lists ClearPass Policy Manager 6.14.1 and below and 6.11.16 and below (both released 2026-09-29) as affected by the PHP flaws CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, each scored CVSS 3.1 9.8, and names a hotfix patch for each train. HPE asks customers to consider removing guest portals and all management interfaces from public access until ClearPass runs a version providing some level of mitigation, which it names as 6.14.1 and 6.11.16; the bulletin says nothing about exploitation of ClearPass, although CISA added both flaws to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-26. →

DeadTag: re-registered domains of defunct analytics and advertising tags redirect visitors of thousands of sites, among them to a page that serves the Coruna and DarkSword iPhone exploit kits, which compromise a vulnerable device when the page opens

Report URI and iVerify describe a campaign they name DeadTag: attackers buy the expired domains behind old analytics and advertising tags that thousands of websites still load, so every page that still carries the tag runs the operator's script without the site owner changing or noticing anything, and the operator sells the visitors those tags bring in (Report URI, 2026-10-22). Report URI has identified more than 660 re-registered domains still embedded on thousands of sites and cautiously estimates 135 million visits a month (Report URI, 2026-10-22). The script is about 2 KB, does nothing for search engines, scanners and other bots, asks the operator's server what to do with each visitor and redirects the chosen ones, and Report URI found that the operator stopped answering when it probed from data-centre addresses or returned too often from residential ones; destinations include scam pages, a fake VPN pop-up and, for iPhones, a page that serves two exploit kits (Report URI, 2026-10-22).

One chain ends at a fake prediction-market page that picks the kit by the visitor's iOS version, Coruna for iOS 13 to 17.2.1 and a modified "P7" variant of DarkSword for iOS 18.4 to 18.7; both attack the browser itself, so opening the page is enough to compromise a vulnerable device, and the spyware they install steals keychain passwords, crypto-wallet app data and device and account information and reports to one server; Report URI notes that Coruna and DarkSword are separate exploit kits that have been seen in different campaigns, and that here both send their stolen data to the same server, which it reads as one operator running both (Report URI, 2026-10-22). iVerify reads DeadTag as mostly focused on European domains rather than .com (iVerify, 2026-10-21), and saw the P7 variant reach an employee's device at a customer organisation through a malicious Instagram ad while the employee was scrolling in the app (iVerify, 2026-10-21). The kit operator does not rely on DeadTag alone: Report URI found DarkSword loaders on hundreds of online shops on one e-commerce platform, PrestaShop (Report URI, 2026-10-22).

Attackers are buying up the expired domains behind old analytics and advertising tags that thousands of websites still load, and they're selling the visitors those tags bring in.

Simply opening the page is enough for your device to be compromised.

Audit your third-party tags.

Report URI (Scott Helme) 2026-10-22

Based on current findings, DeadTag appears to be mostly focused on European domains versus .com

iVerify caught the P7 variant of DarkSword delivered through a malicious Instagram ad themed around the World Cup.

ARA-Region Lyss-Limpachtal (canton Bern, communal wastewater-treatment association): SafePay has put about 49 GB into the darknet, which Risikomonitor's analysis, relayed by Inside IT, finds holds personal records, bank statements, weak passwords and a third party's monitoring credentials; the association declines to comment

The tracker DeXpose recorded on 2026-09-15 that SafePay had claimed an attack on ARA Lyss, the wastewater-treatment association at ara-lyss.ch, posting that the full leak would be published soon unless a company representative made contact (DeXpose, 2026-09-15). Inside IT reported on 2026-10-27 that SafePay has put the stolen data into the darknet, about 49 GB in the case of the Bernese association ARA-Region Lyss-Limpachtal, that the security firm Risikomonitor analysed it, and that the association's management declined to comment (Inside IT, 2026-10-27). Risikomonitor's analysis, relayed by Inside IT and not verified independently, finds about 3,200 e-mail addresses and data on more than 1,200 identifiable persons; user folders and a data store with content up to March 2026 that hold 255 password hits, 195 of them very weak; bank statements and a transaction list with more than 100 payments by private persons with name and address; the full login data to the monitoring portals of the photovoltaic plants of another company's customers, stored on the same server; and a 2015 applicant list with birth dates, civil status, former employer and interview notes that was never deleted (Inside IT, 2026-10-27).

BACS told Inside IT that SafePay, which relies on double extortion, is among the more active ransomware groups in Switzerland and, together with The Gentlemen, the third most active in 2026 after Akira and Payload, that it has no clear focus on Switzerland, and that it was first observed there in May 2025 (Inside IT, 2026-10-27). No source says how the attackers got in or that data was encrypted at the association.

SafePay has put stolen data packages from these two attacks into the darknet, about 30 gigabytes in the case of Manno, 49 gigabytes for ARA Lyss. (translated from German)

According to the analysis, these also contain 255 hits on passwords, 195 of them very weak. (translated from German)

The ARA management replied to questions from inside-it.ch that it did not want to comment on the incident. (translated from German)

NOTABLECVE-2026-48356exploitedNATOB2

CVE-2026-48356 (PolyShell), Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source: an unauthenticated file upload attacked since March 2026, fixed for supported lines in July, and listed by CISA as exploited on 2026-10-27

Sansec named the flaw PolyShell: a missing validation in Magento's REST API that lets unauthenticated attackers upload executable files to a store, using a polyglot (code disguised as an image) to pass the image check (Sansec, 2026-03-17). It reports that its Shield service has blocked exploitation attempts against 79.5% of the Magento stores it protects since 2026-03-16, with first attacks observed on 2026-03-19, and that the vulnerable code has existed since the first Magento 2 release (Sansec, 2026-03-17). On 2026-03-30 a mass wave uploaded webshells, spread backdoor scripts across several directories and injected a JavaScript loader into the CMS pages of 471 stores within one hour (Sansec, 2026-03-30).

Sansec dates a fix in Magento 2.4.9 to 2026-05-12, without a backport to the supported 2.4.8 and 2.4.7 lines, and the backport to those lines to 2026-07-14, in bulletin APSB26-73 (Sansec, 2026-03-17). That bulletin rates the flaw Critical at CVSS 3.1 9.6, lists 2.4.9 among the affected versions, names the 2026-jul builds, 2.4.9-2026-jul included, as the fix for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source, and still says Adobe is not aware of any exploits in the wild (Adobe, 2026-07-14). CISA added CVE-2026-48356 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-27 on evidence of active exploitation and gives no detail (CISA, 2026-10-27; CISA KEV, 2026-10-27). Sansec's research of 2026-10-24 shows the operator behind the March wave still active: its newest loader domain, registered on 2026-10-06, sits in the CMS blocks of 83 stores, 60 of which already carried an earlier loader, and one of them, on Magento 2.4.7-p1, still lacks APSB26-73 and holds PolyShell webshells disguised as images (Sansec, 2026-10-24).

Sansec discovered and named the PolyShell vulnerability (CVE-2026-48356): a critical flaw in Magento's REST API that lets unauthenticated attackers upload executable files to any store.

Even when execution is blocked, the uploaded file stays on disk.

Sansec (PolyShell advisory) 2026-03-17

In March the operator injected the loader into 471 stores in one hour, after uploading webshells through PolyShell (CVE-2026-48356).

Sansec (CMS block loader campaign) 2026-10-24

Adobe is not aware of any exploits in the wild for any of the issues addressed in these updates.

CVE-2026-109618 / CVE-2026-109619, HPE Networking ClearPass Policy Manager: bulletin HPESBNW05171 lists 6.14.1 and 6.11.16 and below as affected by the PHP2Shell flaws and names hotfix patches for both (CVSS 3.1 9.8)

HPE Networking's bulletin HPESBNW05171, released on 2026-10-22 and revised on 2026-10-23 to cover hotfix releases, lists ClearPass Policy Manager 6.14.1 and below and 6.11.16 and below, both released on 2026-09-29, as affected by CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, the PHP flaws behind PHP2Shell, and scores each CVSS 3.1 9.8 with network access, no privileges and no user interaction (HPE Networking, 2026-10-23). The fix is a hotfix patch for 6.14.1 and one for 6.11.16, downloadable from the HPE Networking Support Portal; versions past end of maintenance are presumed affected and are not covered by the bulletin, and HPE has not assessed versions past end of support, which it says should be considered potentially impacted (HPE Networking, 2026-10-23).

HPE recommends confining the CLI and web management interfaces to a dedicated layer 2 segment or VLAN, or controlling them with firewall policy at layer 3 and above, and asks customers to consider removing guest portals and all management interfaces from public access until ClearPass instances have been upgraded to "a version providing some level of mitigation", which it names as 6.14.1 and 6.11.16, although the same bulletin lists 6.14.1 and 6.11.16 and below as affected and names the hotfix patches as the remediation (HPE Networking, 2026-10-23). Other HPE Aruba Networking products it does not list are not known to be affected, and for Mist products the bulletin points to a Juniper reference advisory (HPE Networking, 2026-10-23). CISA added both PHP flaws to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-26 (CISA KEV, 2026-10-27); the bulletin itself says nothing about exploitation of ClearPass (HPE Networking, 2026-10-23).

CVE-2026-109618 / CVE-2026-109619, Cisco Expressway, Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul, Duo Access Gateway and ISE Portal Builder: Cisco's final PHP2Shell advisory names Expressway 15.5.21 and Duo Access Gateway 3.2.0 as the fixes and knows of no malicious use against its products

Cisco's advisory cisco-sa-php-october26-Jj384Daq, published on 2026-10-21 and final at version 1.9 on 2026-10-28, lists Expressway, Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul, Duo Access Gateway and ISE Portal Builder as affected by CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, the PHP flaws behind PHP2Shell (Cisco PSIRT, 2026-10-28). Expressway Series and Expressway Select Series (bug CSCwx37062) have fixed release 15.5.21 and a workaround described in the bug record; Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul and Unified Industrial Wireless Software (bug CSCwx37073) have 27.1.1, listed for November 2026, and a workaround, and there the attacker must be authenticated as an administrator, which lowers the CVSS 3.1 score to 6.6; Duo Access Gateway is fixed in 3.2.0; and ISE Portal Builder is offline for remediation (Cisco PSIRT, 2026-10-28). The advisory gives no affected-version ranges and no workaround steps; its bug records carry platform-specific information, workarounds and fixed releases, and a product it does not list is, in Cisco's review, not affected (Cisco PSIRT, 2026-10-28).

Cisco says it is aware that a public announcement is available and knows of no malicious use of the flaws against any Cisco product (Cisco PSIRT, 2026-10-28); CISA added both flaws to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-26 (CISA KEV, 2026-10-27). For Expressway the PHP fix is 15.5.21 (Cisco PSIRT, 2026-10-28), while the release Cisco names for the unauthenticated root command execution on clustered units, CVE-2026-76466, is X15.5.20 (Cisco PSIRT, 2026-10-21).

The Cisco PSIRT is not aware of any malicious use of these vulnerabilities against any Cisco product.

If a product is not listed within this advisory, Cisco's review indicates that the product is not affected by this vulnerability.

For this product, the attacker must be authenticated as an administrator to exploit this vulnerability.

CVE-2026-61425, Balbooa Gridbox for Joomla: a client-supplied cookie is accepted as proof of identity, giving anonymous Super User access

Balbooa released Gridbox 2.20.4.2 on 2026-10-27, fixing two unauthenticated read-side SQL injections, CVE-2026-102788 (the sort-by parameter of store and category post lists) and CVE-2026-102789 (an editor task without a permission check), both scored CVSS 4.0 9.3 by the Joomla CNA and affecting every release up to 2.20.4.1. No exploitation is reported, Joomla 3 sites have no fix, and the action now points at 2.20.4.2.

Balbooa released Gridbox 2.20.4.2 on 2026-10-27 with two security fixes rated Critical, for the versions 2.20.4.1 and earlier (Balbooa, 2026-10-27). CVE-2026-102788 is in the sort-by URL parameter of store and category post lists and CVE-2026-102789 is a missing permission check on the editor task that loads blog posts (mySites.guru, 2026-10-27); Balbooa's fixes are a strict allowlist validation for the sort-by parameter and a user edit-level check on the editor task (Balbooa, 2026-10-27). mySites.guru says the sort value previously went into the ORDER BY part of the database query and reads the second flaw as a second anonymous route to the same query. mySites.guru reports that the Joomla CNA scores both CVSS 4.0 9.3 and lists every release from 1.0.0 to 2.20.4.1 as affected, and that only two PHP files differ between 2.20.4.1 and 2.20.4.2, one per fix (mySites.guru, 2026-10-27).

Both flaws read data: an anonymous visitor can extract the Joomla user table, with its password hashes, and every other table the site's extensions created. mySites.guru says about 95% of the Gridbox sites it monitors ran an affected version on the morning of the release, that sites on the Joomla 3 line stop at Gridbox 2.17.0.2, which has no fix for this year's flaws, and that there is no public report of exploitation yet (mySites.guru, 2026-10-27). Nothing here is reported exploited, unlike the July batches above; the version to be on is now 2.20.4.2.

IDC Frontier: ransomware stops four zones of IDCF Cloud for 495 companies and local governments; the provider's seventh report traces it to an open-source flaw in the customer portal's authentication system and says no server data left

IDC Frontier's seventh report of 2026-10-27, which closes the investigation, names the cause: an open-source flaw in the authentication system of its customer portal, after which the attacker took administrator rights on the virtualisation platform through the management console and encrypted the virtual servers; it replaces the entry's statement that the intrusion route is not public.

IDC Frontier's seventh report of 2026-10-27 says its investigation with an external security firm is complete and names the cause: a third party exploited a vulnerability in open-source software used in the authentication system of the IDCF Cloud Portal, the portal customers use to start virtual servers and check billing, and so entered that system (translated from Japanese; IDC Frontier, 2026-10-27). The attacker then obtained administrator rights on the virtualisation platform through the management console, stopped customers' virtual servers and encrypted them; the software is not named. The provider finds no trace of customer data leaving the virtual servers, says the improper queries of portal registration data reached up to 71 customers, up from 48, that up to four customer login passwords were improperly changed and have been reset, and that backups are retrievable for 206 customers. It is rebuilding the portal in a new environment, replacing the affected authentication system with an external identity provider and limiting portal access to customer IP addresses with mandatory multi-factor authentication.

A second Swiss customer of Camping.Care, Campingplatz Hüttenberg in canton Thurgau, has warned its guests of the same WhatsApp fraud in a notice with the page date 2026-10-23; the notice says the supplier is investigating the cause and does not mention PHP, so the link to the PHP flaws rests on SRF, Blick and a TCS spokesperson's statement rather than on the supplier.

Netzwoche reported on 2026-10-27 that a second Swiss Camping.Care customer, Campingplatz Hüttenberg in canton Thurgau, has warned its guests of WhatsApp messages about existing bookings that contain real booking information and a link; the campsite's notice carries the page date 2026-10-23 (Netzwoche, 2026-10-27; Campingplatz Hüttenberg, 2026-10-23). The notice says Camping.care informed the campsite of the messages, that Camping.care is investigating the cause and that booking data must be assumed to have been used without authorisation; it does not mention PHP, and Netzwoche points out that it does not say whether the attackers used one of the PHP flaws. The link to the PHP flaws therefore rests on SRF, Blick and a TCS spokesperson's statement to Keystone-SDA (watson.ch, 2026-10-26), not on the supplier.

Palo Alto Networks' advisory for both flaws now says that active exploitation has been observed against its PAN-OS management interface exposed to the internet, after a copy of 2026-10-27 said very limited exploitation; it names no victim or actor, and Unit 42's retraction of 2026-10-25 stands. Priority stays critical.

Palo Alto Networks' advisory for both flaws now states that active exploitation has been observed targeting the Palo Alto Networks management interface exposed to the internet, and its severity is Critical with urgency Highest (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-28). A copy of the page taken on 2026-10-27 at 17:10 UTC said instead that very limited exploitation had been observed (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-27). The advisory names no victim, actor or post-exploitation behaviour and does not say which flaw was used. It is a vendor statement about its own product, Unit 42's retraction of 2026-10-25 stands (Palo Alto Networks Unit 42, 2026-10-25), and Palo Alto's remaining PAN-OS hotfixes are due by 2026-10-30 (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-28).

CISA added the Brotli decoder flaw CVE-2026-111497 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-27, so the entry's CVE record moves to exploited and KEV-listed; Microsoft's own record still said not exploited on 2026-10-25 and no source reports an attack on .NET.

CISA added CVE-2026-111497, the Brotli decoder flaw this release fixes for .NET, to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-27 "based on evidence of active exploitation", without describing the evidence (CISA, 2026-10-27). ELLIO's sensors recorded exploit traffic against Node.js 24.22.0 on 2026-10-26 (ELLIO, 2026-10-26); no source reports an attack on .NET, and Microsoft's own record marked the flaw not exploited on 2026-10-25 (MSRC, 2026-10-25).

CISA added CVE-2026-111497 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-27 on evidence of active exploitation, and ELLIO's sensors recorded exploit traffic against Node.js 24.22.0 on 2026-10-26; JFrog shows the decoder reachable beyond HTTP and Cisco and Palo Alto report no malicious use against their products. The entry's earlier statement that no source reports exploitation is replaced, the priority moves from notable to high. Palo Alto's advisory, as read on 2026-10-28, shows six of its nine PAN-OS hotfixes released and three due on 2026-10-29 and 2026-10-30.

CISA added CVE-2026-111497 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on 2026-10-27 "based on evidence of active exploitation", naming no actor or victim (CISA, 2026-10-27). ELLIO's sensors recorded a public checker that maps hosts decompressing Brotli and then, on 2026-10-26, one Brotli-coded request body of about 23 MB built against Node.js 24.22.0 on x86-64, which ELLIO reads as adoption by an operator focused on mass exploitation; its own test of the attacker's chain against that build got no shell in 50 attempts, so a failed attempt shows as a worker crash (ELLIO, 2026-10-26). Tenable relays the report and has not confirmed it (Tenable, 2026-10-26); Cisco and Palo Alto report no malicious use against their own products (Cisco PSIRT, 2026-10-27; Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-28). Palo Alto's advisory, as read on 2026-10-28, shows six of the nine PAN-OS hotfixes released and the other three, 12.1.4-h13, 12.1.10-h3 and 11.2.4-h23, due on 2026-10-29 and 2026-10-30 (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-28).

JFrog reproduced a remote crash of a ClickHouse server with one request carrying a crafted 23 MB body, with the fix merged but not released when it wrote (JFrog, 2026-10-25). Akamai gives a lever for Express 5 and body-parser 2 services that accept no compressed request bodies: set the inflate option to false (Akamai, 2026-10-26). A Node.js build is judged by its release version, because the bundled version string reads 1.2.0 on patched builds as well (ELLIO, 2026-10-26).

Palo Alto Networks' advisory now says, as read on 2026-10-28, that active exploitation has been observed targeting the PAN-OS management interface exposed to the internet, after a copy of 2026-10-27 said very limited exploitation; severity is Critical with urgency Highest (CVSS-B 9.2, up from 8.7 for availability impact only), and the priority moves from notable to high.

Palo Alto Networks' advisory now states that active exploitation has been observed targeting the Palo Alto Networks management interface exposed to the internet (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-28). A copy of the page taken on 2026-10-27 at 17:10 UTC said instead that very limited exploitation had been observed (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-27); the vendor timeline records no change of wording, and its entries of 2026-10-27 are two removals of hotfix estimated dates and the 16:40 UTC change that raised the severity to Critical and the urgency to Highest (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-28). The vendor score is now CVSS-B 9.2 with high impact on confidentiality, integrity and availability when management is reachable from the internet, and 7.7 when it is reachable only from an adjacent network; the earlier text scored availability impact only (8.7) and knew of no exploitation. The advisory names no actor, victim or post-exploitation behaviour. CISA's catalog flags both PHP flaws with forensic triage requirements (CISA KEV, 2026-10-27). The hotfix table has moved on since the previous record: as read on 2026-10-28, fourteen builds are released and six are due by 2026-10-30 (Palo Alto Networks, 2026-10-28).

Citrix revised bulletin CTX697263 on 2026-10-27 to name the fixed builds (14.1-73.49, 13.1-64.32, the 14.1-FIPS and the 13.1-FIPS and NDcPP builds), which CERT-FR restates; no source reports an attack on NetScaler.

Citrix revised bulletin CTX697263 on 2026-10-27 to name fixed builds: NetScaler ADC and Gateway 14.1-73.49 and later, 13.1-64.32 and later of 13.1, ADC 14.1-FIPS 14.1-73.49 FIPS and later, and ADC 13.1-FIPS and 13.1-NDcPP 13.1.37.286 and later (Citrix, 2026-10-22). CERT-FR's notice of 2026-10-27 lists the same first fixed builds for ADC and Gateway (CERT-FR, 2026-10-27). Neither page says NetScaler has been attacked, and no source reports an attack on it.

Verification & coverage notes

Window 26 h (gap 24.0 h to 2026-10-27T0256Z-intel, normal cadence, no outage backfill). entities/registry.yaml (672 KB) was grepped per key instead of read whole; the 14-day prior_coverage.json (70 records) was read in full. Slice build: S1 and S2 excluded 0 sources by the two-previous-fires rule, S3 excluded 1, S4 took its whole 14-source pool. No intel drops, so no S5. Every slice ledger row came back attempted (17, 22, 14 and 14 records); no continuation was needed.

Verification. Iterations 1 to 7 each returned NEEDS_FIXES (their findings and remediations are in the record above) and the first CLEAN landed at the 8-iteration cap, so no confirmation pass was possible: the run publishes on that single CLEAN as a fail-open and the waiver is recorded. Open advisories, all pre-existing wording or length from earlier fires and left to the quality audit: the Gridbox entry's legacy em dashes, its re-floated high priority and the CVE-2026-61425 CNA score difference (9.4 against the discloser's 10.0), and the PHP entry's length on a non-deep-dive.

What this fire changed. Five new entries (Cisco PHP2Shell advisory, HPE ClearPass PHP2Shell, the CISA-listed Adobe Commerce upload flaw CVE-2026-48356, ARA-Region Lyss-Limpachtal, DeadTag) and nine changelog records. The two that matter most: Palo Alto's advisory of 2026-10-27 now states active exploitation against internet-exposed PAN-OS management interfaces (PAN-OS entry notable to high, PHP entry stays critical with the statement added), and CISA's KEV listing of the Brotli decoder flaw CVE-2026-111497 on 2026-10-27 moved the Node2Shell entry to exploited and high.

KEV rows (kev-window.txt).

  • CVE-2026-111497: COVERED-STALE on two entries, both given update records (Node2Shell entry; the .NET entry, whose CVE record now carries exploited, cisa-kev and says Microsoft's own record still read not exploited on 2026-10-25).
  • CVE-2026-48356 (Adobe Commerce and Magento upload flaw, KEV 2026-10-27): NOT COVERED, shipped as a notable entry. It was first held back as borderline (CISA's listing and Adobe's bulletin give no exploitation detail, no constituency nexus); the verifier then found Sansec's PolyShell reporting, which the CVE record itself links: attacks since 2026-03-19, a mass wave on 2026-03-30 and the fix timeline (2.4.9 on 2026-05-12, supported-line backport 2026-07-14). The entry now rests on Sansec, Adobe and CISA together, and the store already carries four Adobe Commerce or Magento entries.
  • No RANSOMWARE rows.

Backlog (state/coverage_backlog.md). ARX Group SA (Aurora leak-site claim): held, unchanged: S2 and S4 searched in German, Italian and English and read Inside IT, Netzwoche, SRF, Blick, ICTjournal, NZZ, RTS and swisscybersecurity.net; no ARX, SBB or ASTRA/USTRA statement and no Swiss press report exist, expiry 2026-11-07. The 2026-10-14 strike of the ARA Lyss row is overtaken by Inside IT's report of 2026-10-27 and the new ARA Lyss entry.

Supersessions and corrections. Palo Alto's statement replaces the PAN-OS entry's "no malicious exploitation" text and its availability-only score (8.7 to 9.2); the PHP entry's "no source ties a named CVE to a production compromise" now carries the Palo Alto exception. Camping.Care: a second customer's notice says the supplier is investigating the cause and does not mention PHP, so the entry now says the PHP link rests on SRF, Blick and TCS. Manno: the entry's "claim could not be corroborated, no dataset" statements are replaced by Inside IT's report that about 30 GB were published (single source, Risikomonitor's analysis unverified, rating B3). IDC Frontier: the seventh report names the cause, so "intrusion route not public" is replaced.

Contradictions and borderline includes.

  • Contradiction: Palo Alto's exploitation wording. An Internet Archive copy of the advisory taken 2026-10-27 17:10 UTC says "very limited exploitation", the page read 2026-10-28 says "active exploitation ... exposed to the internet", and the vendor timeline records no such change; the PAN-OS and PHP entries state both and tie neither to the 16:40 UTC revision.
  • Contradiction: Adobe's bulletin APSB26-73 (2026-07-14, updated 2026-08-11) says no exploits are known for CVE-2026-48356, while Sansec reports attacks since 2026-03-19 and CISA lists the flaw as exploited; Adobe's CVE record scores it 9.3 where the bulletin says 9.6. The entry states both.
  • Contradiction: HPE HPESBNW05171 names ClearPass 6.14.1 and 6.11.16 as versions "providing some level of mitigation" in its workaround text, while its affected list covers 6.14.1 and 6.11.16 and below and its remediation names hotfix patches for both; the entry quotes the bulletin and does not resolve it.
  • Borderline include: Balbooa Gridbox CVE-2026-102788 and CVE-2026-102789, an unauthenticated read-side SQL injection with no exploitation report, folded into the July Gridbox entry as an update record (the store's pattern for later Gridbox batches, which moved its action to 2.20.4.2). Kept under the "otherwise" limb of PD-11 (b), the leg that holds being a two-file fix diff that hands over the technique; the July Gridbox flaws were exploited, these two are not reported exploited, and no Swiss nexus is established.

Single-source and reduced-confidence inclusions.

  • ARA Lyss-Limpachtal: Inside IT relays Risikomonitor's analysis; DeXpose carries the claim; C3, routine, no encryption mapped because no source states it.
  • Cisco, HPE ClearPass, Balbooa (with mySites.guru, on the Gridbox update): vendor first-party; Cisco and HPE carry cvss: n/a or the vendor's score only.
  • Adobe Commerce CVE-2026-48356: the exploitation history rests on Sansec's own telemetry and scans (a security vendor) with CISA's listing and Adobe's bulletin; confidence high, reliability B.
  • DeadTag: Report URI and iVerify published jointly, so one account from two vantage points, credibility 2.

borderline-drop lines.

  • Gotenberg CVE-2026-42589 (VulnCheck canary telemetry, 1,358 events): internal document-conversion service, five-month-old flaw, not in CISA KEV, no established constituency exposure.
  • Oracle October CPU, 90 unauthenticated rows at CVSS 9.0 or higher (73 distinct CVE ids) against the 12 in the existing entry's title: the entry states the full tally, the CPU is applied as a whole and none is reported exploited; not widened. Oracle Alert CVE-2026-109618 rev 2 Oracle Communications rows: telecom signalling products, no nexus (Secure Backup and Solaris are already in the OT-products entry).
  • Cisco eMudhra informational (revised 2026-10-27): vendor-status churn on a covered entry that already carries the Cisco rows.
  • Chrome 156.0.8078.73/.74 (52 fixes, four Critical), Mozilla MFSA 2026-118 to 122, Apple iOS 27.2, 26.7.2 and 18.7.11 (162 CVEs), GLPI 11.0.9 and 10.0.27, Joomla extension releases of 2026-10-26/27, EUVD criticals (Pie Register, llama.cpp ggml-rpc, OpenRemote): none reported exploited, no constituency nexus.
  • Tailscale and headscale audit by Cyberdione Labs ("Tailworm", fixed in v1.104.4): needs an approved peer whose policy allows forwarding, no CVE, no exploitation, constituency exposure not established.
  • Yoba (Check Point, fake GitHub AI-app projects with DLL sideloading): commodity technique, no constituency specificity.
  • Arctic Wolf on Microsoft Teams external-chat impersonation: known technique, primary dated 2026-10-26 outside the window, Swiss relay only.
  • HMICFRS inspection of police and fire and rescue cyber posture: UK regulator report, awareness level, no Swiss obligation.
  • Kaspersky managed-Kubernetes isolation chain (provider anonymised, fixed), EDK II CVE-2026-97631 (the 2026-10-25 audit's reopen conditions are unmet), Popcorn Time updater (sinkholed since March, no exploitation), Sysdig pickle research, Bishop Fox PHP2Shell guidance (marginal delta on an entry that already carries KEV, public exploit and hardening): no change to what a Swiss SOC does.
  • Swiss Ice Hockey Federation MYSIHF (valid-account theft, private federation), BACS weekly review week 43 (WhatsApp account takeover, consumer fraud; week 42 was also not published): no public-sector nexus.
  • Moldova government digital services (about 750,000 records through unauthenticated services, no service or flaw named), University of Copenhagen test environment, GMO Onamae Desktop Cloud (Japan), Navigate360 / Canadian Crime Stoppers (investigation opened by the Privacy Commissioner), UNM Health, ENGIE, Medienwerkstatt Sulgen: out of nexus or no vector, actor or behaviour beyond the impact. Leak-site claims without victim or A/B-press confirmation (ECOM, SunTechnics Fabrisolar, Bristol City Council, OCMW Machelen, Alliance Police Nationale) stay out (PD-6).
  • Convertr / Plausible CE CVE-2026-8467 (Magecart skimmer, suspected entry): suspected only, out of nexus; a pointer for the next audit.
